VIDEO: Hit-And-Run Driver Flees After Looking At Injured Victim

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are searching for a driver who fled the scene after seeing how badly he injured a pedestrian on the city's west side.

The crash happened just before 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20 at the intersection of Schaefer Highway and Puritan Avenue, west of the Lodge Freeway.

Investigators say the suspect hit a 44-year-old man with his truck and then stopped and checked on the victim before leaving the scene.

The victim remains hospitalized in critical condition.  

The suspect is described as a black male between 6' and 6'3" tall, wearing a black baseball cap, an orange long sleeve hoodie, a black vest and dark colored pants.
