(WWJ) The Monroe County Sheriff's Department says human remains have been found in a drainage ditch in LaSalle Township.
Monroe County Sheriff Dale Malone said a worker discovered the bones Sunday afternoon. Deputies were called to an open field in the area of Stein Road and Strasbourg Road.
The age or gender of the person the bones belonged to is unclear.
The remains were taken to the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office, according to Malone.
