I-75 Traffic Shift In Oakland County Delayed – Again

(WWJ) - The barrels and barricades along I-75 in Oakland County will stay up just a little while longer.

The long-awaited return of the I-75 northbound lanes to traffic is being pushed back again. MDOT was expected to switch northbound I-75 traffic to new pavement in November, but that was delayed after crews used an incorrect concrete mix on portions of the freeway from 13 Mile to Coolidge.

It was then scheduled to clear before Christmas on Dec. 23, but now it won't open until the end of the year.

MDOT's Rob Morosi says because of holiday traffic, the decision was made to open the newly reconstructed northbound lanes on Dec. 28.
