(WWJ) A man is dead after police say a family argument led to gunfire Monday morning, outside a funeral home on Detroit's east side.
According to investigators, a 37-year-old man and his 53-year-old cousin got into a "verbal altercation" just after 10:30 a.m. at the Clora Funeral Home on 7 Mile Rd. near Mound Rd.
At some point, police said, the younger man pulled out a gun and fired one shot, hitting the victim in the body and fatally wounding him.
The suspect, who was arrested at the scene, told police he acted in self-defense.
As the investigation continues, police have not said what the two men were arguing about.
The victim's name was not released.
