GROVELAND TWP. (WWJ) - A northern Oakland County man is facing a long list of felony charges amid a child pornography investigation.
Michigan State Police say 43-year old Jeremy McCallum of Groveland Township, east of Holly, remains jailed after his son alerted authorities to alleged child porn he discovered on father's tablet.
Police said they conducted a search and allegedly found large amounts of evidence including sexual materials involving children.
McCallum was arrested last weekend at his home, in the 11000 block of N. Holly Road, and arraigned Monday on ten counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts of felony firearm, one count of child sexual abuse, one count of extortion, and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon.
Police said the boy who alerted them to the alleged crimes ran away, but was found by state troopers. Child Protective Services was notified and the child was placed with other family members.
State Police said the house was "extremely cluttered" and that the search was expected to take a long time. On Friday police said they were continuing to look into other items found in McCallum's home as the investigation continues.
Details about what led to all of the various charges against McCallum were not immediately released.
