(WWJ) A 66-year-old man is dead and a 60-year-old woman is hospitalized after a motorcycle crashed into an SUV.

The crash happened late Tuesday night in northern Oakland County's Brandon Township.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, a man from Oxford Township was riding a V8 Chopper motorcycle northbound on Baldwin Rd. when he ran a stop sign, colliding with a Chevy Equinox that was headed westbound on Oakwood Rd.

The man was thrown off motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The SUV driver, identified as an Orion Township resident, was taken by EMS to Crittenden Hospital where she was listed in stable condition.

The sheriff's office said the woman was wearing a seatbelt and the man was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
