INKSTER (WWJ) - A man told police he was walking down a street in Inkster when someone fired off a gun and shot him in the leg.
Michigan State Police Troopers responded to the area of Rosewood and Central streets, off Middlebelt Road just north of Michigan Avenue, around 9:25 p.m. Wednesday after the 22-year-old victim called for help.
The man, a Westland resident, told troopers he was walking westbound on Rosewood Street when he was shot in the leg. Witness in the area only heard one shot and observed the victim running towards Middlebelt Road, according to police.
The victim was transported to the hospital with what was described as a non-fatal gunshot wound. His current condition is unknown.
Police haven't said if the shooting was random or if the victim was targeted. No information about the suspect was released.
