DETROIT (WWJ) - A local tattoo artist is facing criminal sexual conduct charges stemming from his alleged actions in 2015.
The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office says 26-year-old Alexander Boyko of Livonia was arrested and is facing three counts of fourth degree criminal sexual conduct -- each a misdemeanor that carries a maximum penalty of two years.
A Redford Township woman, who is now 25 years old, alleges between April and June of 2015, Boyko had inappropriate sexual contact with her.
Boyko has been the subject of multiple allegations in recent years. According to a story by Jezebel published in January 2018, countless women have accused Boyko of inappropriate and unwanted sexual contact. One woman alleged he tried to put his hand down her pants while she was on the tattoo bench and also tried to corner her in a bathroom, and said she could get a discount on her tattoo if she had sex with him, according to the story.
The prosecutor's office did not disclose further details about the conduct that led to the charges against Boyko, who has reportedly worked at several tattoo shops in the Detroit area and across the country.
Boyko is expected to be arrianged 35th District Court Thursday.
