Lake Orion (WWJ) - It was a special day for Pryce Redmon who received a unique birthday present from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

The Lake Orion boy turns five Saturday and is fighting stage 4 neuroblastoma, aggressive childhood cancer. Due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic closing down Disney theme parks he was unable to go to on his planned Make-A-Wish trip. Oakland County Sherrif's Office heard about it and decided to pitch in.

"Today was honestly was a huge surprise. We knew that the Sheriff's Office was coming over to help Pryce celebrate his fifth birthday and so we were just excited to see some police officers maybe get to see the lights or hear some sirens, but they went above and beyond," said Pryce's mom Katie Redmon.

Video provided to WWJ by Oakland County Sheriff's Office shows Sheriff Mike Bouchard attended and swore Redmon in as a Special Deputy Sheriff. A helicopter flew over, a variety of emergency vehicles stopped by and many sheriffs came by to wish the youngster a happy birthday.

To top it off, Pryce got a fully accessorized uniform and his own customized ride-on police car.
