EASTPOINTE (WWJ) - Police are searching for a woman who may have been involved in a hit-and-run accident in Eastpointe that left a motorcyclist dead.
The accident happened around 11 p.m. Thursday on Dale Avenue, near 10 Mile Road and Hayes Avenue.
According to police, the victim, identified as 45-year-old Ervin Smith of Warren, was traveling westbound on 10 Mile when he apparently lost control of his motorcycle and crashed. He was taken to local hospital where he died.
Police say a black GMC, possibly an Envoy, with front end damage was spotted leaving the scene of the accident. The driver is described as a black woman, 20- to 30-years-old and 5'9" tall with braided hair and wearing white t-shirt.
