WOODSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WWJ) - Authorities say a motorcyclist was killed during a midnight crash in rural Lenawee County.
The crash happened around 1 a.m. Wednesday along Devils Lake Highway, north of US-223 in Woodstock Township.
From evidence at the scene, Michigan State Police troopers were able to determine the victim, 51-year-old Paul Bishop of Onsted, was traveling southbound when his 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle crossed the center line and began to brake.
Police say Bishop then lost control of his motorcycle, which left the roadway, impacted a berm and began to overturn. Bishop, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the bike. He sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was declared dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
