(WWJ) Michigan State Police are investigating their seventh Detroit freeway shooting in a week.
State Police say two men were involved in an "altercation" while driving along a construction zone on northbound I-75 near 8 Mile Road during Monday afternoon rush hour.
Investigators tell WWJ the suspect lowered a window and fired a handgun at the victim while they were traveling side-by-side.
The victim was not hit, and no injuries were reported.
The suspect drove away. The victim called 9-1-1.
This came less than 24 hours after a Hamtramck man was shot while driving along I-94 near Mount Elliot, Sunday night. State Police said the victim of that shooting was driving out of control before he pulled over, blocking traffic. A witness called 9-1-1.
Two people are in custody for separate shootings on I-94 and I-96 last week.
State Police say there is no indication the shootings are connected.
The section of the freeway was shut down for several hours Monday night for an investigation.
