
(WWJ) A 37-year-old man is jailed, accused in unusual auto theft in Oakland County.
Late Wednesday night, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the area of Clyde Rd and Milford Rd. in Highland Township on a report of a stolen Caterpillar front-end loader driving down Milford Rd.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the tractor, and determined it had been stolen from the Consumers Energy Pipeline worksite at Fish Lake Rd and Clyde Rd.
The driver, identified as a Highland Township resident, was arrested and lodged in the Oakland County Jail.
His name is being withheld at this time, pending an arraignment on expected charges.
Further details surrounding alleged crime haven't been released. An investigation by OCSO Auto Theft Unit detectives is ongoing.
