(WWJ) Detroit Police are calling on your help to identify and find a suspect wanted for a shooting and carjacking on the city's west side.
Police say the suspect approached the victim, 38, in the area of Asbury Park and Thatcher Street around 9 am Thursday. The suspect asked the man to drive him to his car, which he said was on Ferguson Street, a few blocks away. The suspect's picture is below.
The two men entered the victim's white 2004 Express Van and drove to the area of Ferguson and Pickford Street.
Police tell WWJ the suspect pulled a gun on the Good Samaritan and fired multiple shots. The victim got out of the car and tried to run away.
The suspect drove away in the victim's van, according to officers.
The victim is hospitalized with "non-life-threatening injuries."
