(WWJ) Detroit police are asking for tips to help solve the murder of a woman on the city's west side.
On Sunday, August 30, at around 2 a.m., 40-year-old Janine Murray was found in the driver's seat of her black 2000 Buick LeSabre, parked in a parking lot in the 19800 block of Monte Vista St.
Murray was suffering from a gunshot wound to the body and was pronounced dead by EMS at the scene, is in the area of Meyers and W. Outer Drive.
According to investigators, an unknown person in a dark-colored GMC truck was spotted fleeing the area after the shooting.
More than a month later, there have still been no arrests in the case.
Now police are hoping someone in the public can help them to identify and locate the suspect vehicle — seen in an image from a nearby secuity camera — as well as the driver.
Police have not publicly discussed any suspected motive for the killing.
