(WWJ) A Pontiac boy is fighting for his life after he was struck by a truck while riding his bike.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department said the boy, 9, was riding on Harper Street when he went through a stop sign at the intersection of Gage Steeet around 12:40 pm Monday.
Investigators tell WWJ the man driving the truck, 48, could not brake in time and hit the little boy.
The boy suffered serious head injuries. He was “conscious, but not alert,” according to the Sheriff’s Department.
Star EMS responded and administered treatment to the child. He is in critical condition at Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital.
