VIDEO: Red Work Van Sought In Fatal Pedestrian Crash

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who fled the scene after fatally striking a pedestrian on Detroit's west side.

The crash happened around 5:50 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26 along Fenkell Avenue near Freeland Street, just east of Hubbell Avenue.

According to police,  a 54-year-old black female was fatally struck by a van that was traveling eastbound on Fenkell. After the collision, the vehicle fled the scene in an unknown direction.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The suspect vehicle is described as a red work van with a white driver's side door and a ladder rack on the roof.
