(WWJ) The owner of two dogs that attacked a woman and killed a puppy in Roseville earlier this week has been identified.

The owner is said to be cooperating with the investigation, although it's not clear if he or she will face any criminal charges.

Roseville police said Macomb County Animal Control office is assisting in the investigation, which is expected be completed by the end of this week.

Police said the 45-year-old Roseville woman was waling her 10-month-old Beagle along Frazho Road Monday evening, when two loose "pit bull-type" dogs ran up.

The woman suffered bites to her arms and legs and was taken to the hospital. Two bystanders who intervened — a 69-year-old Roseville man and a 32-year-old Roseville woman — were also bit and injured, police said.

All of the people who were hurt are recovering, but Bella didn't make it.

Macomb County Animal Control and police had asked the public for tips to help identify the dogs, to keep this from happening again.

Police did not say whether the dogs have been seized, or where they are now.

No names were released.
