Short's Brewing has taken a stand against abusive customers in a recent Facebook post.
They wrote, "It's time to STOP," in regard to customers bullying their employees at their Bellaire Pub location in northern Michigan.
The establishment is known for craft beer flights, live music and pub food. They recently re-opened during the COVID-19 pandemic following health department and CDC recommendations including mandatory face coverings for employees and patrons.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer has announced executive orders mandating face coverings when inside public spaces and disputes have cropped up between patrons and employees who attempt to enforce the order. Restaurants are also only allowed to have a portion of their capacity to help stop the spread, which has led to longer wait times for customers.
The post hints at customers having to wait, "we understand how frustrating waiting for food or dealing with lines can be, but we are also constantly working to streamline our business levels with this new system."
Skyler Hofbauer commented, "People really seem to forget that we’re putting our lives and our loved ones lives on the line to serve you dinner. The sheer entitlement these last 6 months has been vile.We hear you and appreciate you so much -- Thank you for everything"
