
(WWJ) Birmingham police are trying to track down a suspect in a deadly hit-and-run.
Police say the driver struck a man, 40, from Southfield while he was walking across Woodward near Forest Avenue around 2 am Saturday.
The driver stopped briefly, then drove away from the scene on eastbound Maple, according to Birmingham Police.
The suspect is believed to be in a dark-colored Chevrolet Traverse. WXYZ reports it is possibly maroon, made between 2013 and 2017.
The victim died at the scene. Anyone with information is asked to call the Birmingham Police Department 248-530-1870.
