(WWJ) Michigan State Police are investigating another possible freeway shooting in Detroit.
The latest happened just after 5 p.m. Monday, according to investigators, on the southbound side of I-75, south of 7 Mile Road.
As of 6:30 p.m., police had the southbound freeway shut down at 7 Mile while K9 troopers and MSP Special Investigation Section detectives were on scene searching for evidence.
State police have not yet released any information about the driver involved, any possible injuries or suspects in the suspected shooting. They said more information will be released as it becomes avaiialb.e
If this indeed was a shooting, this would be the seventh shooting on a Detroit-area freeway in the past week.
Sunday night, police said a Hamtramck man was shot while driving along I-94 near the Mt. Elliot exit. State Police said the victim was seen driving erratically in the westbound lanes before he pulled over in the construction zone, blocking traffic. A witness stopped to provide aid and call 9-1-1.
Two people were arrested after separate shootings on I-94 and I-96 last week.
Police said there is no indication that any of these shootings are related.
It was not clear how long he stretch of I-75 might be closed Monday evening.
