MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (WWJ) -- A suspect is in custody after three people were stabbed at a popular bar near the campus of Central Michigan University late Saturday night.
Police were called to the Wayside Central bar in the 2000 block of S. Mission Street on the report of a fight just before midnight.
Authorities say three people were stabbed and taken to local hospitals. Police did not disclose any information about the victims or the extent of their injuries.
Police and bar personnel interviewed multiple witnesses and reviewed surveillance footage, which led to the arrest of a suspect. Police have not released the name or age of the suspect.
It was not clear what led to the stabbing.
In a statement from the university Sunday morning, officials called it "an isolated off-campus incident" and said there is "no longer an ongoing threat to the public."
Though authorities have not disclosed information about the extent of the victims' injuries, a Facebook post from Wayside Central Sunday morning says at least one of the victims was a male and "it was a very serious injury."
The post also thanked all police personnel who assisted at the scene, including Mount Pleasant Police, Central Michigan University Police, Michigan State Police, Isabella County Sheriff's Department, Mobile Medical Response, and the Mount Pleasant Fire Department.
Wayside says it shut down just before 1:30 a.m. after the suspect was apprehended.
