DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit police are asking for help tracking down a suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash on the city's west side last month.

Police say around 3:25 a.m. on Sept. 11, a 58-year-old man was coming out of a restaurant in the 8000 block of West 8 Mile Road, between Livernois and Wyoming when he was struck by a dark colored Ford F-150 pick-up truck.

Authorities did not disclose the name of the restaurant, but said it was reported that the victim and suspect got into a verbal altercation while inside the restaurant. As the victim was exiting the front door of the restaurant, the driver of the Ford -- said to be a 2015 or 2016 F-150 -- deliberately collided with the victim and fled the scene, headed eastbound on 8 Mile.

The suspect is described as a black male in his mid 40s with light complexion. He stands about 6-foot-4 and weighs approximately 400 lbs., according to police. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and white shorts.

Police released a video that shows the suspect's truck in the upper right-hand corner pulling out of the parking lot.

Police are asking anyone who has any information pertaining to the crime or may recognize the truck to contact the Detroit Police Homicide Unit at 313-596-2260. Calls can also be made anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak Up.
