Suspects Captured On Video Robbing Orion Gas Station Clerk On New Year's Eve

ORION TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WWJ) -- The search is on for a pair of suspects who were caught on surveillance camera robbing a gas station in Orion Township in the early morning hours of New Year's Eve.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, deputies responded to the BP gas station in the 4900 block of Baldwin Road on the report of an armed robbery.


The store clerk, a 30-year-old woman from Independence Township, told police that two men had ran inside the store and robbed her at gunpoint. One suspect jumped over the counter, while the second suspect walked around the country, pointed a gun at her and demanded cash from the register.

The suspects demanded the woman's cell phone, and she told them she did not have a phone. But the suspects saw it lying on the counter and took it with them. The two men fled the scene with an unknown amount of cash and the clerk's cell phone.

The sheriff's office responded to the scene with a K-9 unit, but a track was of the suspects' scent was lost in the parking lot of a nearby bank. 

Both suspects are described as unidentified males wearing dark hooded jackets with masks over their faces. One suspect was wearing bright orange work gloves, while the other had on blue gloves.
