(WWJ) Target practice shooting went terribly wrong in the Thumb Area.
The Huron County Sheriff said a Lincoln Park man, 53, and a Woodhaven man, 50, were target shooting at their cottage in Huron County when one of the bullets went into a neighbor’s house in Fairhaven Township.
The neighbor, 49, who previously sustained a closed head injury, went and talked with the two men, thinking the bullet had only grazed him, according to police.
It happened on June 4 around 4:30 pm.
However; when the neighbor's sister arrived home a few hours later, she felt his injury was more serious.
He is hospitalized. His condition is unknown, although doctors believe his wound is non-life threatening.
The case will be turned over to the Huron County prosecutor's office to decide if there will be any criminal charges.
