(WWJ) Drivers in Macomb County should expect traffic delays as President Donald Trump pays a visit to talk about trade.

The president landed just after 3 p.m. Thursday at Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Harrison Township.

Depending on the route the president's motorcade takes to its destination — the Dana Incorporated facility on Van Dyke Ave., south of 12 Mile Rd. in Warren — there could be traffic delays into the afternoon rush hour.

Delays were expected on I-94, I-696, M-59 and/or Van Dyke, according to the WWJ 24-Hour Traffic Center.

As of 3:40 p.m., closures due to the presidential convoy included I-94 in both directions at M-59 and eastbound M-59 approaching I-94. In addition, the eastbound I-94 ramp to westnound I-696 and the eastbound and westbound I-696 entrance ramps from Van Dyke and Hoover were closed.

The service drives were also affected.

The president is scheduled to speak at Dana at around 4:20 p.m. He's expected to focus on the new USMCA trade agreement he signed into law on Wednesday. The new trade pact with Mexico and Canada replaces NAFTA — the former North American Free Trade Agreement — signed during the Clinton Administration.
