TROY (WWJ) - A Harper Woods woman is awaiting charges after police say she flashed a gun at another driver on the freeway.
No one was injured in the apparent road rage incident last Friday evening in Troy.
The alleged victim told police he was driving on southbound I-75, north of Big Beaver Rd. a little after 6 p.m. when he was involved in a traffic altercation with the driver of a 2015 Kia Optima.
The two drivers exchanged words, and — according to the victim — at one point the other driver flashed a gun at him outside her window.
Both drivers called police, and responding officers met with the Kia driver in a parking lot off Crooks Rd.
The 30-year-old woman told investigators she owned a firearm but it was in the trunk, and she initially denied she'd brandished the weapon, police said.
However, police said she later admitted that she did show her silver and black Kahr semi-automatic handgun to the other driver, because she thought she was in danger.
The gun was recovered and the woman was arrested.
Police said she was still awaiting an arraignment as of Tuesday. Her name was not released.
