According to investigators, Hoff entered Nino Salvaggio's in St. Clair Shores on April 26, and was asked to leave by a store employee becaucause she wasn't wearing a face mask.
It's alleged that Hoff then "physically assaulted" the employee, and refused to leave. When St. Clair Shores Police were called to the store to help, they said the suspect "continued to behave erratically," attacking and spitting on police officers before she was taken into custody.

Hoff was arraigned April 27 and is scheduled to return to court for a probable cause conference this Friday.
"During this unprecedented time, we know tensions are running high. Patience and understanding are greatly encouraged as we all try our best to acclimate to the new and often-changing expectations. However, the repeated inappropriate behavior of this suspect cannot be tolerated," said Cloud, in a media release/ "This suspect's repeated actions clearly demonstrated a willful disregard of the safety of those around her."
It is required that Michiganders wear masks when in stores and otehr enclosed public spaces, under Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's April 24 executive order to combat the spread of coronavirus. The order is set to expire on May 15.
Election records show Hoff lost to the 2017 mayoral election to Mayor Robert Taylor, 75% to 25%.
