Detroit Police Search For Suspect Who Struck Pedestrian On Detroit's West Side

DETROIT (WWJ) -- The search is on for the driver of a black SUV that struck a pedestrian early Sunday morning on Detroit's west side.

Detroit police say a 30-year-old woman was crossing the street shortly after 1 a.m. in the area of McNichols Roand Stahelin Avenue in the North Rosdale Park neighborhood when she was hit. Police say as she was crossing the street, she was struck by what is believed to be a black Cadillac Escalade or GMC Yukon with heavy front end damage. It was not clear which direction the SUV fled.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital and was last listed in critical condition.

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
