NOVI (WWJ/AP) - A worker was killed Friday when a machine he was operating rolled over on top of him at a construction site in Novi.
Investigators say the 57-year-old Lapeer man was operating a machine used to compact soil around 1 p.m. when it rolled over on an uneven surface and landed top of him.
The man was dead by the time authorities arrived at the work site, near Taft Road and 11 Mile Road.
Pulte Homes is working on a new development going up at the site, but it's unclear if the man is employed by the company. His name was not released.
The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration is now investigating.
