PONTIAC (WWJ) - Oakland County authorities are searching for a man who allegedly stabbed his girlfriend's son in fight over a basketball game.
It happened at a home on Ferry Street in Pontiac, after an argument between the two broke out during Wednesday night's NBA Finals game between the Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors.
It started as a fistfight, witnesses said, but escalated when the 30-year-old suspect grabbed a knife. He swung the blade at the victim, according to sheriff's officials, cutting him deeply twice -- on his face and forearm -- before fleeing on foot.
An OCOS K-9 unit was unable to track down the suspect, who has not yet been named or described by authorities. He remained at large as of Thursday morning.
The condition of the victim, a 20-year-old Pontiac man, is unknown at this time.
An investigation is ongoing.
