WWJ -- "Avengers: Endgame" is one of the most anticipated movies of the year and a handful of local theatres plan to celebrate accordingly.
Phoenix Theatres announced three of their locations -- at Laurel Park Mall in Livonia, the Mall of Monroe and State-Wayne in Wayne -- will be holding 30-hour marathons once the movie comes out on April 25.
Since the end of the series' previous fil, "Avengers: Infinity War," Marvel fans everywhere have been eager to find out the fate of their beloved superheroes as the likes of Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Brie Larson and others return to the big screen.
When the big film finally does reach movie screens April 25, Phoenix Theatres will be keeping the doors open all night long, playing for 30 continuous hours – "uniquely catering to those who might miss out on the first showing yet cannot wait another minute to see the fate of the Avengers," the company said in a press release.
"Due to the national ground swell and demand for this film, Phoenix Theatres will continue its new tradition with our 4th Annual '30-hours' event, showing 'Avengers: Endgame' at all locations nation-wide," said Phoenix Theatres President Cory Jacobson. "Everyone really had a fantastic time in the past with our 30 Hour all-night showings for 'Star Wars' and we decided that 'Avengers: Endgame' merited the same respect."
The company will be teaming up with the "League of Enchantment," a highly professional Cos-Play group whose members are actively involved in community outreach and work with a variety of local charities. Phoenix Theatres will be donating $1 from every 'Avengers: Endgame' Popcorn Tin sold to the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Michigan.
The theatre in Monroe features a three-story tall, 65-foot wide, 4K digital screen and an advanced surround sound system.
Tickets can be purchased in advance online at Phoenixmovies.net and on the Phoenix Theatres app. In-person ticket purchases can be made at all Phoenix Theatres locations starting daily at 9:00 am.
