Pleasant Weather Ahead This Weekend In Metro Detroit

(WWJ) Who's ready for some Spring that finally feels like Spring? Just in time to welcome May, there's some fairly decent weather ahead.

"Overall, it's going to be amazing this weekend," says WWJ AccuWeather Meteorologist Dean DeVore.

After chilly, wet and dreary weather in metro Detroit, DeVore says we have something good to look forward to. "It's going to be one of those grit your teeth and bear it to get to better weather days," DeVore said, calling off-and-on showers in waves through the night. "We should start to clear out late tonight, but it may take awhile."

DeVore said the sun will come out Friday, with temperatures rising into the mid-60s by Friday afternoon.

And, for those who've been putting off mowing the lawn, it's going to be a great weekend to get going on your yard work.

"Everybody's anxious to talk to me because they want to get to the better weather," DeVore told WWJ's Tom Jordan and Roberta Jasina. "We need sunshine and we'll get doses of it on Saturday...some sunny breaks on Sunday."

The real story will be the warmth — in the 60s and up into the 70s — Friday through Sunday.

There is a chance, DeVore said, that a system on the way could bring a little rain shower or two Saturday night; but the remainder of the weekend will be pleasant and dry.

Here is the AccuWeather weekend forecast:

FRIDAY: Hi 64°, Lo 46°. Decreasing clouds, with some sunshine.

SATURDAY: Hi 64°, Lo 53°. Partly sunny, with a little rain possible in the evening.

SUNDAY: Hi 72°, Lo 44°. Mainly cloudy, with some sunny breaks.

It will be just a bit cooler as we head into next week; with Monday's high reaching to 60 or 61.
