DETROIT (WWJ) - Police say two little girls who were apparently taken by their father amid a custody battle with the girls' mother have been found safe.
Police say Kaiyesa and Kaiyanna Pittman were located in good health and unharmed on Saturday. No further details about their recovery were provided.
Late Friday night, police asked for help locating the siblings, saying their mother last saw them in the 17000 block of Riopelle, near McNichols and I-75. Their mother told police the girls' father came to the home and took the girls, ages 2 and 4, without permission -- leaving in a black unknown vehicle.
Police say the parents are current in a custody battle over the children. The did not believe the girls were in danger.
