DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit police are searching for a person of interest in connection to a hit-and-run that killed a teenager over the weekend.
Authorities say around 10:10 p.m. on March 9 a 17-year-old male was attempting to cross the street in the 11000 block of Gratiot Avenue when he was struck by two vehicles. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries.
The person of interest was seen on surveillance video in the area at the time of the incident. The vehicle was seen driving northbound on Gratiot before making a U-turn and continuing south along Gratiot.
Police did not release a description of the vehicle, but the video shows it appears to be a dark SUV.
