The programs will be hosted at three different locations -- Detroit Collegiate Preparatory at Northwestern (2200 W. Grand Blvd.), Mumford High School (17525 Wyoming Ave.) and Marcus Garvey Academy (2301 Van Dyke).
Program director Breanna Sullivan tells WWJ there will also be classes for parents at the program, including financial literacy, GED basics, computers and conflict resolution."
In-person registration events will be held at each of the three locations on Saturday and online registration will open on Feb. 18. Classes will run from March 2 until June 15.
"At the end of the school year, we have a 'Saturdays in the D' experience, where you get to really see the students showcase everything they've learned throughout the school year," Sullivan said. "You'll get to hear them sing songs, do the dances, as well as maybe even taste some of the food that they are able to create.
