DETROIT (WWJ) -- Those looking for a job in the medical field may be in luck.
Sinai-Grace Hospital, part of the Detroit Medical Center system, is holding a hiring event Saturday, searching for people to fill a number of open positions, including registered nurses, nursing managers, instrument associates, surgical techs, pharmacy techs, medical office assistants and more.
Joi Little, Chief Human Resources Officer with Sinai-Grace, says the hospital is looking for some extra help to ensure patients can live "happier, healthier lives."
“Our patients are pretty complex with specialized and rare diagnoses and we feel we need more staff to deal with the complex issues that we have," Little told WWJ's Dr. Deanna Lites. “We need more staff and we’re reaching out to the community and the metro area to kind of recruit more staff to come to a place where we are growing and looking to employ dedicated, hard-working people who are passionate for patient care.”
Little says even those who may not be qualified for the positions they are mainly advertising should still come, as other positions are available.
"There will be recruiters here from all over the DMC that will be here on-hand to help facilitate someone to apply for an open position that does not fall in these categories," she said.
The event will be held Saturday from 11 a.m until 3 p.m. in the main lobby at Sinai-Grace, located at 6071 W. Outer Drive on Detroit's west side.
Attendees should remember to bring their resumes, as Sinai-Grace staff and DMC recruiters will be conducting interviews and even making offers on the spot.
“Sinai-Grace is a great place to work," Little said. "I’ve been here for 33 years. I urge anybody that’s looking for some passionate care of patients to come on out and let’s see if we can get you in these open positions.”
Those who are interested can register on the hospital's website, but those who do not register can still attend.
