OAK PARK (WWJ) - A Southfield woman died, early Wednesday morning, following a hit-and-run in Oak Park.
It happened overnight, according to police, on Greenfield Rd. south of 9 Mile Rd.
Police said a witness flagged down an officer who found the victim, who'd apparently been struck by a vehicle, lying in the roadway.
The 52-year-old woman was taken to Providence Hospital where she was pronounced dead early a few hours later.
Police found debris at the scene which helped them to quickly track down the suspect vehicle. Charges are pending against the suspect, identified as an Oak Park resident, police said.
The roadway was shut down for an investigation, but has since reopened.
No names have been released.
