ALMIRA TWP., Mich. (WWJ) - An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday for a bicyclist found dead in Northern Michigan.
Troopers with the Michigan State Police Cadillac Post responded to the scene Wednesday, on a bike trail about 1.5 miles off Reynolds Road in Benzie County's Almira Township.
According to investigators, 69-year-old Jack Kline of Lake Ann, Michigan, went for a ride that afternoon. When he did not returned home by around 4:30 p.m., a friend went looking for him and found him dead along the trail.
Troopers and medical investigators found no signs of foul play, police said.
His cause of death remains unknown, pending the autopsy results.
Police noted that Kline was said to be an avid trail rider who regularly enjoyed the sport, adding in a statement: "Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Kline's family and friends."
