BRUCE TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - An arrest has been made in connection with the death of a woman late last week in northern Macomb County.
Authorities say an autopsy will be conducted Monday on the victim whose body was found Friday morning at a home in the Springbrook Mobile Home Park, near Van Dyke Ave.and 33 Mile Road in Bruce Township, near Romeo.
After troopers were called to a home in the 12000 block Creekview about a "death or suicide," Michigan State Police deemed the 62-year-old woman's death "suspicious."
Police now say the case is being investigated as a homicide and that a suspect is in custody, but they have not said how investigators believe the woman was killed.
Neighbors said it's the woman's son who was arrested, although that detail was not immediately confirmed by police. State Police said expected charges are pending, with results of the investigation expected to be presented to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office this week.
There is no information about a possible motive at this time. No names have been released.
