DETROIT (WWJ) -- A 57-year-old man is in custody after an argument led to gunfire on Detroit's west side.

Police told WWJ shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday they were called to the 12400 block of Santa Rosa Drive, west of Livernois near Davison, on the report of a shooting.

Authorities say the man was arguing with a 33-year-old black male when the altercation turned violent. The suspect shot at the victim with a shotgun, grazing him. The suspect then barricaded himself inside his home and refused to come out.

Police eventually arrested the man but did not say whether the suspect surrendered or they entered the home. Authorities did not say what led to the argument.

The victim was treated by a medic and released at the scene.

The victim is reportedly the boyfriend of the suspect's sister.
