BLOOMFIELD TWP. (WWJ) - Police are looking for tips in the case of counterfeit money spent in Bloomfield Township.
According to Bloomfield Township police, the suspect -- described only as an older black male -- ordered dinner Sunday evening at a Hungry Howie's pizza shop on S. Opdyke Rd., near South Blvd.
He paid an employee with a phony $20 bill, police said, and left with a small pizza and $14.70 in change.
It wasn't until later that night, a little after 10 p.m., that the manager counting out the cash drawer identified the bill as a fake and called police.
An investigation is ongoing.
