Two men, Dwight and Duane Samuels, have been charged in the shooting at a coney island over fried mushrooms.
The incident happened at Nicky D's Coney Island at 7 Mile and Greenfield early Wednesday morning. The two men became irate when they asked for fried mushroom and learned that the restaurant didn't serve them.
The twin brothers left the premises, but returned later with a metal pipe and a gun. The two then attacked a 40-year-old customer, beating him and ultimately shooting him before fleeing the scene.
The customer, a regular at the coney, was shot in the mouth and was last reported as being in critical condition.
The Samuels twins are being charged with attempted murder along with other charges.
Following this shooting, the Detroit Police Chief announced his a new slogan for the summer: Check yourself, stop the violence. The slogan is being spread on social media in hopes of stopping senseless violence.
