Two young girls and their mother are hospitalized after a hit and run on Detroit's east side this morning at the intersection of Chalmers and Eastwood.
The incident unfolded just after 2:30 a.m. when someone driving a Jeep Wranger blew through a stop sign and hit the van driven by a 29-year-old woman.
Her two daughters -- ages four and nine -- were both ejected and were last listed in critical condition. The van was left tipped over at the intersection.
The mother was listed in temporary serious condition with minor injuries. The two people inside the Jeep -- a man and a woman -- fled the scene westbound and are still on the run.
