VAN BUREN TWP. (WWJ) - One person is dead and another is hospitalized following a crash early Tuesday in southwestern Wayne County
According to Van Buren Township police, 17-year-old Canton boy was driving southbound on Belleville Road, south of Ecorse Road, when he crossed the center line, crashing head-on into a northbound vehicle driven by a 64-year-old Van Buren Township man.
The Van Buren Township man died at the scene, police said, a little after 2:30 a.m.
The teenage driver was taken to a local hospital were he was listen in stable condition. No names have been released.
As an investigation continues, police said drugs or alcohol are not believed to have been a factor.

Belleville Road was closed at the scene but has since reopened to traffic.
