DETROIT (WWJ) - Drivers could see a longer commute than normal Wednesday morning as snow continues falling around Metro Detroit.
A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 2 p.m. Wednesday for Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Genesee, Lapeer and St. Clair Counties counties. Forecasters say snow will persist through the morning before coming to an end this afternoon with a storm total snowfall of 2 to 4 inches.
In Washtenaw, Wayne, Lenawee and Monroe counties, light snow is expected through the morning hours with a dusting to around 1 inches of accumulation.
"We're all in on the snow this morning," said AccuWeather Meteorologist Dean DeVore. "The good news is for areas around the city and especially south of the city, it tapers off as we get toward the lunch hour. It will hold on a little longer in areas toward the north -- and that's why the disparity in accumulation amounts."
Plan on snow covered and slippery road conditions to impact the morning commute, along with reduced visibilities in falling snow. Use caution while driving.
The snow will be light and powdery as temperatures will be in the teens and low 20s through the morning.
