PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - A woman is fighting for her life after she was thrown from her vehicle during a rollover crash in Plymouth Township.

The crash happened around 7:45 p.m. Thursday along eastbound M-14 near Sheldon Road.

Michigan State Police say the woman lost control of her vehicle, which ran off the right side of the road and then overturned. The woman wasn't wearing her seat belt, according to police, and was ejected from the vehicle. She suffered head and chest injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

A passenger in the vehicle, who police say was wearing a seat belt, sustained minor injuries.

Police say "speed too fast for conditions" appears to be a factor in the crash. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.

The crash remains under investigation.
