(WWJ) A 29-year-old woman was approached by multiple people in the 7800 block of Bingham Street who first attempted to rob her, then opened fire and shot her.
Per reports, the victim later died at the hospital.
The suspects fled the scene before Dearborn Fire arrived at the incident that happened at about 9:40 p.m. Friday.
This incident is still under investigation.
In reaction, Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad urged the community to come forward with the identity of the perpetrators.
"The Dearborn Police Department sends its condolences to the family and friends of the victim and will aggressively investigate this crime utilizing all available resources," he said. "We are urging the public to come forward and provide information to help identify the suspects."
