DEARBORN (WWJ) - Police are investigating after a 28-year-old Livonia woman was shot dead in Dearborn.
Officers responded to the area of Michigan Avenue and Southfield Freeway around 8 p.m. Friday after getting a report of a shooting and found the woman suffering from a gunshot wound.
Officers and EMTs rendered first aid to the victim, but she died at the scene.
At this time, the motive for the shooting is unknown. Police say a person of interest is currently in custody on unrelated charges.
The victim has been identified, but her name is being withheld.
