Myron Kaplan, executive director of news podcasts for Audacy, started their journalism career in newspapers — the printed kind — and found many different platforms to tell stories before finding a home in podcasting. Their lifelong love of music and engineering expertise drives them when developing a new show, sound designing a podcast episode, or sussing out opportunities to build an audio scene and keep listeners glued to their earbuds.Kaplan developed their audio journalism sensibilities as a longtime producer on APM’s Marketplace. Before joining the team at Audacy, Kaplan made podcasting waves as senior producer of Slate’s Trumpcast and a member of the LA Times daily podcast team, while dedicating their time and skills to many great independent podcasts along the way. They hold a Master’s in Specialized Journalism from the University of Southern California.
